ABOUT

In 1956 this school started at Wailada in a native Fijian bure. The first teacher was Mrs. Lavenia Volau Soqosoqo. The first manager was the British Colonial Secretary Mr. Allen Parker back in 1956 to 1958.In 1959 the school relocated to the present site and was registered in the Education Ordinance of 1960 on the 28th December, 1960. The first building materials came from an American timber company. The elders of Lami walked down to the junction and carried the materials up the track to the present site.

At LAMI PRIMARY SCHOOL, students receive so much more than an ordinary education. We pride ourselves on creating a unique, exciting environment that embraces all types of learners and promotes growth both academically and personally. Students and families are also welcomed into a dynamic and supportive community.

Our Philosophy:

To perceive the world through a child’s eyes and guide that idividuality to be free moral agent and a thinker to innovate and impact society with esthetic values through the domain and scope of human possibilities.

Our Principle:

To live our dreams and make it a reality, little by little, day by day, one step at a time. To make the impossible possible, dedicated, devoted and commited and to be determine to give our best each step of the way through out an academic year and to make a change, a difference in the individuals.

Our Practice:

To impute and imbibe quality character and impart through direct and indirect influences in our daily practices.

Our words has to mean what we say. A yes means yes and no means no. That we walk the talk and produce the difference that the children will see in us. That we are to create an environment, literally a becon and a harbour for a child’s safety, security and a nursary to develop and grow to break the cycle of poverty and to permeate capacity building for our region’s sustainable development here in Fiji, the Pacific and the World.
